Accounts Payable Operations Leader Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Operations Leader leads the Accounts Payable and various related service operations and accounting functions including a team consisting of Accounting Specialist(s) and Accounting Operations Specialist(s). Responsible for ensuring daily, monthly, and annual deadlines are met. Leads the organization objectives related to the processing of Accounts Payable, servicing subsidiary account support and other related accounting activities. Serves as the subject matter expert on PeopleSoft Accounts Payable application and processes. The Accounts Payable Operations Leader is responsible for the development, application, and enforcement of corporate accounting policies, including accurate daily invoice processing, disbursements and general ledger posting.

Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

  • 4+ years’ experience in bookkeeping, Accounts Payable or accounting.

  • 2+ years’ supervisory experience in bookkeeping, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and/or Purchasing functions.

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office or transferable software packages

  • Experience analyzing problems and developing strategies for resolution.

  • Experience establishing and meeting deadlines.

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact at all levels within the company.

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business or commensurate experience.

  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time).

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.

  • Ability to travel as required.
