Responsibilities:

The Actuarial Leader is responsible for leading the actuarial department function and employees.

Responsible for the performance, actuarial analysis, and recommendations of the actuarial department for the company.

The Actuarial Leader combines advanced actuarial skills and subject matter expertise of the Company’s insurance products and operations to lead, direct, and assist in actuarial projects as determined by the Chief Actuarial and Analytic Officer and senior leaders.
Qualifications:
-
Fellow of CAS or commensurate actuarial experience.

10+years of Property & Casualty insurance actuarial experience.
-
4+ years of successful people leadership experience with proven leadership.

Commercial Lines ratemaking/underwriting experience.
-
Mid Market or National Accounts expertise.

Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to convey advanced concepts to a non-technical audience.

Experience with and advanced knowledge of actuarial techniques and property and casualty insurance.

Experience with financial analyses, modeling, and risk assessment.

Experience analyzing, interpreting, and recommending policies and procedures that drive effectiveness and efficiency.

Farm owner expertise preferred.

Experience with implementing a new policy processing system, ie: Duck Creek preferred.

Experience with designing / deploying new rating plans preferred.

Breadth of experience including Specialty or International preferred.

Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time).

Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.

Ability to travel as required.
