Bank Marketing Manager Job Summary

The Bank Marketing Manager is responsible for the oversight, design, and success of marketing programs in support of specific lines of business. The Bank Marketing Manager works to create a culture and build a framework within the organization for making marketing decisions based on data and analyses of the market and consumers. This role will work closely with business unit leaders and their teams to ensure the marketing initiatives and projects are consistent and integrated with the overall line of business and company strategic plans. This role develops and recommends customer centric strategies and initiatives to optimize distribution channels, maximize sales, and design differentiated branded experiences that align with Westfield’s mission, vision, and goals.


Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)

1. Responsible for the market and customer driven marketing strategy for multiple lines of business. This includes researching, designing, implementing, and ensuring the overall success of the marketing strategy and success for each individual line of business.

2. Contributes to a culture and framework within the organization for making marketing decisions based on data and analyses on the market, market conditions and trends, and consumer’s needs and desires.

3. Collaborates with leaders in Retail, Business Banking, Mortgage, Agency Banking, and Private Banking to ensure alignment of marketing plans and strategies to the overall corporate plans and goals.

4. Collaborates with Marketing Leader to define segment strategy/value proposition and the desired customer experience for target markets.

5. Helps translate strategy into a go-to-market plan for different business and product areas.

a. Defines our market positioning in terms of strategic objectives, our value proposition, our differentiators, and our client engagement experience, etc.

b. Aligns with Lines of Business and Operations to define capability requirements and opportunities into a go-to-market plan.

c. Defines and tracks success and steering measures, monitors market/segment performance, and draws conclusions for governance and steering that enable delivery.

6. Contributes and adheres to budget development for marketing initatives.

7. Collaborates with Marketing Leader as well as other areas of the organization for creating an annual marketing plan listing the key initiatives/projects that Marketing will focus on.

8. Fosters effective relationships with cross-functional team members, business unit and sales channel managers to facilitate the development of marketing strategies to achieve business goals.

9. Develops email marketing strategies to deepen and retain existing client relationships.

10. Create and manage an editorial calendar in collaboration with Marketing Leader to compliment marketing programs.

11. Identifies and manages relationship(s) with third party business partners to support implementation of marketing strategies.

12. Manages multiple strategic projects while also personally executing on day-to-day work of content creation.

13. Facilitates and obtains compliance approvals in accordance with applicable bank policies and procedures for all digital and printed marketing materials created.

14. Maintains awareness, understanding, and compliance with the Bank's internal policies and procedures, laws and regulations appropriate for this position.

15. Provides assistance in response to regulatory and internal/external audit requests.

16. Sits on Bank Marketing Committee.

17. Travels as needed in order to perform other essential functions.


Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

1. 5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: marketing, brand management, and/or sales and service within the financial services industry.

2. 2+ years experience in Segment Marketing.

3. High-level project management skills, obtained via working on and leading previous projects, enabling delivery of multiple projects and assignments.

4. Demonstrated experience making decision and recommendations based on defined business goals and objectives.

5. Proven ability to be an agent of change with the energy, passion, and drive to plan, mobilize, and execute complex change efforts.

6. Ability to monitor performance metrics through regular review schedule for managed implemented programs to ensure value delivery.

7. Demonstrated ability to be a dynamic communicator with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

8. Proficient level of knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.

9. Detail-oriented, highly organized self-starter who takes initiative and follows through with minimal supervision.

10. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications or related areas or demonstrated commensurate experience.

11. Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

* Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time).

* Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, email, etc.

* Ability to travel as required.

* Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the driving policy.
