Club Food and Beverage Director (Leader is used in-house) Job Summary

Salary Range: $73,434.00-$84,450.00-$95,465.00

 

The Club Food and Beverage Leader is responsible for leading the Westfield Group Country Club Food and Beverage operations and for upholding quality standards in customer service, products, and facilities. Leads and supports all aspects of the business operations including staff performance and development, sales, and financial and facility management. In addition, the Club Food and Beverage leader collaborates and partners with other Hospitality operations leaders and other business unit leaders to ensure alignment and coordination of resources, timing, and priorities. 

Westfield Group Country Club is an operation within the Corporate Hospitality Operations at Westfield Group. Additional Corporate Hospitality operations include Corporate Event Planning, Blair Conference Center, the Westfield Inn, Corporate Dining, and Business Administration.

 

Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)

1. Leads the Westfield Group Country Club Food and Beverage operations including food service, preparation and delivery, outside services, corporate, member and retail events. 

2. Ensures quality standards in customer service, products, and facilities.

3. Ensures consistent delivery of products and services that align with Westfield’s goals, standards for quality, and brand image.

4. Collaborates and partners with other Hospitality operations leaders and other business unit leaders to ensure alignment and coordination of resources, timing, and priorities. 

5. Performs human capital management responsibilities including employee selection, performance management, coaching, and development.  Manages priorities and workload distribution, and removes barriers that impede progress.  Completes all personnel, salary administration, and reporting duties.  Performs operational responsibilities that drive team performance including planning, execution, process improvement and best-practice sharing.

6. Addresses all member/guest concerns as necessary ensuring the best possible experience for all parties. 

7. Participates in on-going facility inspections throughout the club to assure that cleanliness, maintenance, safety and other standards are consistently attained.

8. Coordinates development and management of annual food and beverage operating budgets and long range capital expenditures.  Is responsible for internal cost controls and inventory management.

9. Develops and implements annual and long range business and workforce plans.  Responsible for effective communication regarding these plans while ensuring needed approvals, and/or justifying variances and changes to plans.

10. Communicates and maintains departmental and company-wide standards, policies and guidelines. Develops and implements new department standards, policies and guidelines.  Ensures completion of all compliance and reporting requirements.

11. Acts as primary back-up and oversees all AGM operations in absence of the Assistant General Manager.

12. Develops creative ways of promoting club events in all outlets, meeting customer satisfaction targets.

13. Represents the Club and maintains active membership in their local professional CMAA organization.

14. Upholds Westfield’s core values and Hospitality Operations guiding principles when representing Westfield Group on campus or off-site.

15. Travels as needed in order to perform other essential functions.

 

Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

1. Minimum of 3 years’ management experience in food and beverage and/or leading a high volume food service operation.

2. Minimum of 2 years’ people leadership experience.

3. Demonstrated strong working knowledge of food service standard operating procedures and demonstrated ability to manage operational performance, consistency, and compliance.

4. Demonstrated experience as a team leader with demonstrated ability to collaborate with, develop and lead an efficient and effective management team.

5. Proven financial and budgeting acumen including experience managing budgets, maintaining costs and meeting reporting deadlines.

6. Demonstrated focus on and commitment to customer satisfaction.

7. Demonstrated successful sales and marketing experience, including a record of successfully meeting sales and/or growth goals.

8. Bachelor’s degree OR commensurate experience.

9. A valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

 

Physical Requirements (specific to the role) 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

• Ability to remain on feet, standing and walking for the majority of the workday including climbing stairs and walking varying terrain.

• Ability to maintain movement, bend, lift and carry (35lbs)

• Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:  telephone, computer, Point of Sale system; web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.

• Ability to travel as required.
