Club Food and Beverage Manager Job Summary


Annual Salary:  $57,326 - $65,925 - $74,525


The Food and Beverage Manager, working under the direction of the Unit Leader, provides day-to-day management for the operations of an assigned Corporate Hospitality operation which may include Blair Conference Center, Westfield Group Country Club, Westfield Inn, and/or Corporate Dining locations.  Assists in leading and supporting all aspects of the business operations including staff performance and development, sales and marketing, financial and facility management, and ongoing customer service excellence.  Collaborates with other Hospitality Operations leaders in managing direction and performance of the business unit.  In the absence of the Unit Leader, has overall responsibility for operations at assigned location.


Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)

1. Manages day-to-day facility operations including: corporate, employee, club member, agent and retail meetings and events under the direction of the Unit Leader. Ensures consistent delivery of product and services that align with Westfield’s goals, brand image, operational experience maps, and standards of quality.

2. Assists Unit Leader in establishing, communicating, and maintaining department standards, policies and guidelines.

3. Ensures a healthy and safe environment for employees and guests while maintaining compliance with company-wide policies and applicable regulations.)

4. Oversees facility upkeep and coordinates staging, logistics, appearance, audio visual services, storage, rentals, furniture décor, and amenities.

5. Collaborates with leader and peers in helping manage the operational performance of the team.  Assists Unit Leader in the day to day planning of the team. 

6. As directed, performs human capital management responsibilities including employee selection, performance management, coaching, and development.  Manages priorities and workload distribution, and removes barriers that impede progress.  Completes all personnel, salary administration, and reporting duties.

7. Serves as “manager on duty” and oversees all operations in the absence of the Unit Leader.

8. Responsible for the prudent management of business expenses.  May assist unit leader with budgeting and reporting. 

9. Contributes to the annual and long range business and workforce plans. Provides effective communication regarding these plans while ensuring needed approvals, and/or justifying variances and changes to plans.

10. Participates and contributes in development and execution of sales and marketing plans to achieve business volume and customer satisfaction targets.

11. Upholds Westfield’s core values and Hospitality Operations guiding principles when representing Westfield Group on campus or off-site.

12. Provides leadership in accordance with Hospitality Operations business unit vision, goals, and guiding principles.

13. Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel between office locations.


Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

1. A minimum of 2 years experience in Hospitality as a proven leader/assistant manager.

2. Strong working knowledge of food service standard operating procedures and demonstrated ability to manage operational performance, consistency, and compliance.

3. Proven ability to collaborate with peers, team, and leadership in support of the business operations.

4. Proven financial and budgeting acumen including knowledge of budgets, maintaining costs and meeting reporting deadlines.

5. Demonstrated focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.

6. 4 year college degree in Hospitality management or related field OR commensurate experience.

7. Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.


Physical Requirements (specific to the role) 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

• Ability to remain on feet for the majority of the workday

• Ability to maintain movement, bend, lift and carry (35lbs).

• Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:  telephone, computer, Point of Sale system; web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.

• Ability to travel as required.

• Ability to climb steps and walk over varying terrain.
