Job Title: Commercial Lines Underwriting Trainee (Middle Market)
Employee Status: Regular
Schedule: Fulltime
Location: Hybrid - defined as three days in office located in Westfield Center, OH.

Responsibilities:
- Develops operating knowledge of Westfield Insurance standardized hardware, software programs, third-party software, and processing procedures.
- Works toward developing an understanding of key concepts and appropriate business skill application through active participation and engagement in observation and practice activities, and achieves satisfactory scores on learning evaluations.
- Solicits reinforcing and constructive feedback from peer coaches and learning delivery managers, and incorporates feedback into their development.
- Participates in Community Investment, networking, and teambuilding activities to build foundational business relationships.
- Prepares for networking opportunities and leadership interactions in a timely and thorough manner.
- Identifies resources and best practices to monitor pertinent industry activity and trends.
- Manages expenses in accordance with corporate guidelines.
- Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel between office locations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- This position requires that you successfully complete a combination of AINS General Insurance exams within 3 attempts per exam.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills resulting in the ability to interact with all levels of management and employee population.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to work within a team environment.
- Proven ability to manage changing priorities and multiple assignments.
- Ability to relocate if deemed necessary by the business.
- Demonstrated experience using software packages including, but not limited to, MS Word and MS Excel.
- Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
- Physical essential functions: ability to work 40 hours in an office environment (sitting, standing, on a computer, etc.), operate office related technology (computer, phone, etc.), travel as required.
