Position Title: Golf Course Equipment Technician, Full Time
About the job:
The Golf Course Equipment Technician is responsible for all aspects of the Westfield Country Club Golf Course Equipment Repair Program, turf equipment fleet management, and maintenance facility upkeep. Assists with the day-to-day operations of the golf course in order to create meaningful, memorable experiences for members, agents, employees and customers. Provides ongoing customer service excellence and duty of care for employees and guests. Collaborates with other Golf Course Operations and Real Estate Operations employees to provide direction and performance of the departments.

- Equipment Technicians work as a team to maintain equipment on both the North and South Courses.
- Clean, airconditioned shop space with equipment lift and tools pro-vided.
- Focus on career development and training. Could include GCSAA’s EM Level 1 & 2 certificate program and CTEM certification program.
- Westfield Country Club is host to outings and tournaments such as Bridgestone Westfield Legends Pro-Am (Senior PGA Tour Player) and The Ohio Open.

Requirements:
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience at a golf course equipment maintenance operation or related work experience.
- Strong working knowledge of golf course maintenance procedures and golf course equipment repair.
- Experience with small engine repair, welding, hydraulic and electric trouble shooting, cutting unit repair and adjustment, sprayer repair and calibration and/or mechanical maintenance/repair.
- Experience collaborating with others to ensure an efficient and effective team environment.
- Experience maintaining a high degree of customer service focus.
- A turfgrass equipment certificate or 2-year college degree in Turfgrass or commensurate experience.
- A valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
- Ability to remain on feet standing and walking for the majority of the workday including walking over varying terrain.
- Ability to work outside and tolerate extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to maintain movement, bend, lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as: telephone, computer, Management software, Irrigation System software, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
- Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the driving policy.
- Ability to work in an environment where pesticides and other chemicals are used.
- Ability to work with and handle fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides and insecticides under the direction of a Licensed Commercial Pesticide Applicator.
- Ability to travel as required.
Courses:
South Course
This historic course is nearly 6800 yards of meticulously manicured playing surface. Complete with views of the Clubhouse, Blair Center fountains, and the iconic 16th hole bridge, the South Course has long been a favorite of golfers in Northeast Ohio. This course was originally Designed by Geoffrey S. Cornish, and most recently renovated by Hurdzan Golf Design.
North Course
This course is a 6,733 yard links style featuring firm playing surfaces, open terrain, links style bunkering and the distinct look of fescue in the secondary rough. The experience is complete with hardscapes reflective of a European country side; rustic style cart paths, free standing boulder walls and a homestead style ruin feature. This course was originally Designed by Geoffrey S. Cornish, and most recently renovated by Hurdzan Golf Design.
