Event Planner Peak Seasonal Job Summary

  • $12.00 an hour
  • 20-40 hours per week

The Event Planner Peak Seasonal will be responsible for supporting the effort of the Event Planning department to plan and successfully execute corporate and retail events. Manages priorities simultaneously and provides a high level of service and professionalism to clients and co-workers.

 

Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)

1. Supports the effort of the Event Planning department to plan and successfully execute corporate and retail events.

2. Assists in the planning and production of Westfield corporate and retail events, including verbal and written communications, creation and distribution of printed materials, and hosting on-site during the event/outing.

3. Produces printed and promotional materials for events including, but not limited to: signage, scorecards, cart cards, agendas, and nametags.

4. Manages event detail(s), communication, and productions according to event timeline and deadlines.

5. Assists others on the team as needed to ensure work is completed and a high level of customer service is maintained. As needed, assists in cross-functional roles within the Hospitality Operations business unit.

6. Travels as needed in order to perform other essential functions.

 

Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

1. Minimum 1 year experience in Event Planning or currently pursuing a secondary degree in a related field.

2. Strong organizational skills.

3. Ability to maintain a high degree of customer service focus.

4. Communicates effectively in a collaborative environment, both orally and in writing, with members, guests, and colleagues.

5. Experience working independently as well as within a team environment. 

6. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Publisher.

7. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

8. Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

 

Physical Requirements (specific to the role) 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

• Ability to work effectively in both an indoor and outdoor work environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time).

• Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:  telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Ability to travel as required.

• Ability to remain on feet, standing or walking, for the majority of the work day.

• Ability to maintain movement, including bending, lifting, and carrying up to a minimum of 35 lbs.

• Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the driving policy.
