Hospitality Supervisor Job Summary

  • Annual Salary: $44,750 - $51,462 - $58,176

The Hospitality Supervisor, working under the direction of the Unit Leader or Assistant Unit Leader, provides day to day supervision for the assigned Corporate Hospitality operation location (e.g. Blair Conference Center, Westfield Group Country Club, Westfield Inn, and/or Corporate Dining).  Assists in leading and is responsible for staff performance pertaining to production of products and consistent quality of service as defined by standard operating procedures.  Manages the customer experience and addresses their questions and/or concerns.  Collaborates with and supports leaders in other Hospitality locations. 


Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)

1. Provides day to day supervision for the assigned Corporate Hospitality operation location.  Ensures consistent delivery of product and services that align with Westfield’s goals, brand image, operational experience maps, and standards of quality. 

2. Coordinates priorities and workload distribution, and removes barriers that impede progress.  Oversees employee orientation and occasional training that is needed.  Ensures that standard operating procedures are followed by employees.

3. Performs human capital management responsibilities including employee selection, performance management, coaching, and development.  Manages priorities and workload distribution, removing barriers that impede progress.  Performs operational responsibilities that drive team performance and ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained.

4. Directs shift coordinators regarding staff scheduling needs.

5. Oversees reconciliation of point of sale terminals and ensures daily accounting procedures are followed.

6. Manages expenses within budgeted targets including purchasing products within authority level and manages inventory.  Generates and analyzes reports as requested by leader.

7. Collaborates with other stakeholders including HR, Group Safety & Security, and other Hospitality leaders ensuring effective communication and compliance with Westfield policies and local, state and federal regulations.

8. As directed, substitutes for and supports supervisors at other Hospitality locations as needed.  Serves as “manager on duty” in the absence of assistant unit leader and/or unit leader.

9. As assigned, conducts opening and closing duties at respective facility.

10. As directed, ensures safety standards are communicated and followed by guests and staff including situations of severe weather and/or emergency.

11. Participates in meetings and on committees within respective operations and across the Hospitality business unit, as needed.

12. Provides leadership in accordance with Hospitality Operations business unit vision, goals, and guiding principles.

13. May travel between Westfield on-campus facilities as needed.


Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

1. Minimum of two years working in hospitality or related field.

2. Proven experience as a team leader or team coordinator with demonstrated ability to collaborate with, develop, and lead an efficient and effective team.

3. Demonstrated strong working knowledge of hospitality standard operating procedures and demonstrated ability to supervise operational performance, consistency and compliance.

4. Demonstrated strong administrative and organizational skills.

5. Demonstrated strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

6. Demonstrated focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.

7. High school diploma or GED.


Physical Requirements (specific to the role) 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

• Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing and working on a computer for extended periods of time).

• Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:  telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.

• Ability to work with frequent variations in temperature, hot and cold both indoors and outside for 40+ hours per week.

• Ability to remain on feet; standing and walking for an 8 hour work day.

• Ability to lift and carry 40lbs.

• Ability to bend and reach.

• Ability to operate various tools and equipment related to the hospitality industry such as cooking equipment and utensils, point of sale registers, wine openers etc.

• Ability to travel as required.
