The Venture
This new venture, focused on the restaurant industry,  connects our innovation efforts to our purpose – helping our customers mitigate risk and uncertainty by getting right to what matters. Up to 65% of a restaurant's costs are allocated to labor and food. Optimizing these costs to reduce risk is a top priority for managers, owners, and executives. 
 
This venture will help drive profitability by helping managers make better use of their time and resources, and it ultimately leads to customers who can enjoy good food and service. 
 
Our product helps guide user’s focus to the important details. It has been up and running in multiple pilot locations, enabling continued iterations and refinement of the key features. The next step will be taking the product to market.  
 
The Opportunity
The Interaction Design lead will be part of this new venture’s founding team and responsible for helping us continue to design and iterate on the groundbreaking digital experience. The Interaction Design lead will own and shape the direction and design of the product in collaboration with the product owner and design and development partners. The Interaction Design Lead has a strong point of view about digital product design and a human-centered process. They will have the autonomy and ability to build something new, and influence what the product is going to be.

What It Takes: 
Get ready to collaborate, fast. This work needs someone who knows what it takes to build something– regardless of the means, from identifying human-centered insights that shape design to overseeing and collaborating with development partners. You get energy by being able to go deep into a single product, and its multiple iterations to make sure it does what it is supposed to.   
 
In this role, you'll get to: 
  • Be involved with all parts of the design process: user research, concept development, prototyping, strategy design, UX + UI, collaborating with the development team, and design stewardship across platforms. 
  • Focus on complex challenges and key activities, including design leadership, structured thinking to inform information architecture, and other conceptual frameworks. 
  • Work internally and externally with an incredibly diverse and passionate group of designers and collaborators.
  • Continue to help research, shape, and define what this product should be today and in the future. 
  • Work in an agile, lean environment. 
 
What You Need For This Role: 
In this role, you'll use your collective 6-8 years of work experience and education to: 
  • Shepherd partners and stakeholders through the journey of bringing software to market by leveraging web and mobile app knowledge. 
  • Make sense of complex information, user interaction flows, and system architecture. 
  • Bring concepts to life through fundamental skills like wireframes, user flows, and mockups. 
  • Build, prototype, and evolve digital products throughout the product life cycle at the right level of feasibility through different mediums (for example, animations with AfterEffects, click-throughs with Keynote, interactive prototypes with Invision, Flinto, Principle, etc.). 
  • Design beautiful user interfaces influenced by a point of view on what great design looks like, leveraging tools such as Sketch or Figma. 
  • Work in a fast-paced design and development team environment (A big plus if you have JavaScript/CSS/HTML experience). 
  • Experience in an agile, sprint-based environment.
