Premium Audit Services Leader Job Summary

Location: Westfield Center, OH Home Office is preferred

Salary Range:  $80,896 – $105,165

 

The Premium Audit Services Leader leads, directs and monitors the daily operations of the Premium Audit Services unit.  This role directs daily production, ensuring that audit guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards of performance are being met.  This role also drives and advocates creation of advancements in capability through process improvement, development and implementation of best practices. This role serves as a primary contact for the business units concerning audit processing, as well as staff referrals with processing complexity that are escalated for resolution. 

 

Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)

  1. Leads the daily operation, performance and results of the Premium Audit Services unit, which includes ordering, tracking and processing audits, as well as service for customers, agents, vendors and underwriters.  Responsible for unit production standards including timelines, quality, and quantity of completed work.
  2. Analyzes operating reports for adherence to established standards.  Responsible for identifying department trends and initiating appropriate actions in collaboration with business partners for resolution.
  3. Evaluates and resolves staff referrals with processing complexity and issues.  Provides guidance and direction to handle problems and concerns though collaboration with Claims, Commercial Underwriting, Billing, Analytics Resource Center and the Customer Care Center.
  4. Serves as primary contact for the business units on procedural/technical inquiries concerning audit processing and/or coding.
  5. Leads through process improvement, development and implementation of best practices. Facilitates staff meetings for improving work processes and managing change within the department and with business partners. Supports the initiation of new processes and procedures by documenting, testing, and validating.
  6. Performs human capital management responsibilities including employee selection, performance management, coaching, and development.  Manages priorities and workload distribution, and removes barriers that impede progress.  Completes all personnel, salary administration, and reporting duties.  Performs operational responsibilities that drive team performance including planning, execution, process improvement and best-practice sharing.
  7. Collaborates with department leaders and internal business partners, in providing assistance, processing support and strategic input for alignment in support of business strategies. 
  8. Supports the development and execution of the Premium Audit strategic vision and annual plan.
  9. Maintains an operating knowledge of Westfield’s standardized hardware/software programs and processing procedures.
  10. Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel between office locations.

 

Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

  1. Seven (7) or more years of experience in premium audit or related commercial lines experience. 
  2. Two (2) years or more of direct and/or indirect people leadership experience including experience leading a team with various roles.
  3. Experience solving problems and providing conflict resolution between business units, agents and customers.
  4. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, resulting in the ability to interact with all levels within the organization and with customers.
  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Strong analytical skills with experience performing trend analysis and formulating solutions.
  7. High School diploma, GED, or commensurate experience.
  8. Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:  telephone/headset, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
  • Ability to travel and work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the company driving policy.
