Position Title: Production Design and Media Services Manager 

The Production Design and Media Services Manager is responsible for leading the design and media services team and working on the creation and delivery of production creative materials including marketing and communications creative production vehicles including design, video, photography via themselves, internal graphic/media specialists and external freelancers when needed. As a primary steward of the Westfield brand, the Design and Media Services Leader ensures that all deliverables comply with corporate brand guidelines while maintaining established voice, identity, and persona requirements. As a working leader, the Design and Media Services Leader will have production projects that they will design while managing a high volume workflow including design of traditional, digital, and social media assets and video/photo production from program manager initiation through execution as well as leading traffic flow through the approval process.  Actively participates in and leads the design and delivery of all collateral, brochures, digital/web channel designs, social and mobile media output, digital banners, web pages, video, photography, and presentations. This position partners across the Marketing & Communications team and collaborates with business and vendor partners to ensure alignment of all projects, initiatives, efforts, and outputs. This role leads, manages, and mentors a team of creative professionals, including graphic and multi-media designers. The Design and Media Services Leader also develops new and oversees all existing vendor relationships and external print/production operations.


Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)


  • Production management of impactful and quick turnaround of marketing communications and corporate communications solutions from design to delivery and through the approval process that inform, instruct and influence the way agents, consumers and the community think of Westfield and Westfield’ products and services. 
  • Uses production solutions to aid in developing and executing production vehicles, in support of sales and marketing goals in alignment with Westfield’s business strategy and objectives.
  • Leads the planning, design, and delivery of marketing and communication deliverables, including collateral, brochures, digital/web channel designs, social and mobile media output, digital banners, web pages, video, presentations, and multimedia projects. Provides oversight including reviewing all marketing outputs and deliverables.
  • Serves as a primary steward of corporate brand, ensuring that all deliverables maintain a consistent voice and identity as established by Westfield’s brand guidelines. Additionally, responsible for continued development and maturity of the Westfield brand.
  • Leverages project management expertise to deliver marketing and communications that increase customer adoption, loyalty, and advocacy across all media, including print, digital and social platforms. 
  • Demonstrates a strong portfolio mastery of software of design, and artistic skills, and knowledge of graphic, photography, and video fundamentals across traditional, digital, and social channels. 
  • As a working manager, regularly designs and creates production materials for the enterprise as well as the marketing and communications department.
  • Works with business stakeholders and the Marketing/Communications team(s) to develop and deliver production concepts for their review and approval. 
  • Leads a highly skilled team of graphic design and media specialists. Manages diverse technical capabilities, optimizes resources, and sequences work of a professional staff to deliver maximum value to key stakeholders. 
  • Performs talent management responsibilities, including employee selection, performance management, coaching and development. Manages workload priorities and distribution and finds more efficient ways to increase design capabilities and production. Completes all personnel, salary administration and reporting duties. Performs operational responsibilities that drive team performance including planning, execution, process improvement and best-practice sharing. 
  • Establishes budget in accordance with corporate guidelines; manages expenses throughout the year and provides reforecasts and variance explanations, as needed.
  • Manages external vendor relationships and works collaboratively with Westfield’s Procurement business-unit resources.
  • Participates in professional industry groups and creates a network of key contacts to stay abreast of industry trends and changes, and customers’ and employees’ desires and expectations. 
  • Travels occasionally to participate in special assignments and training, or to visit office locations, agencies, printers, or other vendors.


Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)


  •     10+ years of relevant business-support experience, including high volume and fast turnaround production-based marketing/communications experience in designing and creation of production creative marketing and communications vehicles.
  •     5+ years’ experience in both B2B and B2C marketing.
  •     5+ years’ experience leading production services teams.
  •     Experience in developing audio/visual production, graphic design, interactive media, and print management as shown through a portfolio. 
  •     Strong business acumen including financial management of department budgeting and monthly reconciliation.
  •     Strong project management skills with ability to plan tasks, assign resources, manage progress, and motivate team members quickly across multiple projects. 
  •     Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  •     Experience building effective business partnerships through collaboration, influence, creative problem-solving and negotiation.
  •     Experience serving as a change agent for a company with proven experience planning, mobilizing, and executing within an organization and its culture.
  •     Experience successfully managing multiple vendors and freelancers across concurrent projects. 
  •     Bachelor’s degree in fine art, graphic design, video production, business, marketing or related field or equivalent work experience.
  •     Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

  •    Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time).
  •    Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:  telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
  •    Ability to travel, as required.
  •    Ability to operate an automobile within the parameters of the driving policy.


Salary Range and Benefits:


  •  Full time opportunity.
  •  Salary Range: $91,173.00 - $ 104,849.00  
  •  Annual Bonus Plan - 10%
  •  Insurance plans – medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, health savings account and more.
  •  Dual retirement plan - 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan and Pension Plan
  •  Paid time off: 18 days 
  •  Education Reimbursement
  •  Location: Westfield Center, Ohio easily accessible from I-71 and I-76
