Job Title: Senior Risk Control Rep Outside

Location: Remote in PA, DE, MD, VA Territory

Responsibilities :

  • Plans, prioritizes, conducts, and provides general risk evaluation and consulting services for CL book of business, meeting department service level agreements with moderate supervision.
  • Collaborates with underwriting to effectively use department resources that provide operational and risk insight to enable sound business decisions. Prepares and submits comprehensive reports, estimates of value, recommendations, and opinions to appropriate business partners.
  • Consults with the customer on identification and control of key risk issues. Analyzes losses and develops improvement plans that mitigate identified loss sources and risk opportunities.
  • Controls claims cost by creating recommendations that align with industry and Westfield best practices on identified risk issues. Establishes customer awareness, buy in and commitment through verbal consultation and written correspondence. Upholds a team ownership and approach in achieving timely resolution for identified opportunities with all stakeholders.
  • Utilizes experience and knowledge to create strong agency/customer relationships. In addition markets, communicates and consults with agents and customers to create trust, collect feedback and generate a valued experience in each engagement with customer, underwriter and others.
  • Utilizes various types of technology platforms, programs and information sources to identify and respond to underwriting and customer needs.
  • Maintains knowledge to relevant codes/standards, technology, and legislative issues. Advances risk services capabilities through professional development including training, attending and participating in seminars, working towards a professional designation, and/or similar activities.
  •  Participates and champions department initiatives, projects, and product development.
  • Delivers presentations and training to internal and external customers on risk control issues.
  • Participates in agency visits and other marketing interactions to achieve business unit and department objectives with focus on profitable growth, retention, and market perception.
  • Informs Risk Control Leader of activities and problems within the assigned area of responsibility; refers matters beyond areas of authority to leader or appropriate channel for direction.
  • Travels as often as needed including regular utilization of assigned fleet vehicle to cover assigned territory. This may involve traveling on short notice or other daily driving duties as assigned regardless of location.

 

Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of commercial insurance OR 2 or more years of loss control and/or industry-related experience.
  • Presentation experience either internally or externally as part of previous work assignments.
  • Consultative experience.
  • Experience utilizing strong persuasion skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills particularly in report and letter writing.
  • A bachelor’s degree in insurance/ finance, mathematics, engineering, or safety related field or related designation (e.g., CSP) or commensurate work experience.
  • Strong time management skills to balance workload and complete work in a timely fashion.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.
  • Physical  essential functions: ability to work 40 hours in an office environment (sitting, standing, on a computer, etc.), operate office related technology (computer, phone, etc.), travel as required.
