Talent Acquisition Leader Job Summary 
The Talent Acquisition (TA) Leader is responsible for developing and leading Westfield’s talent attraction strategy to enable the achievement of Westfield’s business objectives.  In collaboration with HR Business Partners, and other key stakeholders, this role establishes a strategic workforce planning approach that anticipates future talent needs and drives distinctive recruiting processes and tactics for all levels in the talent pipeline from early career to executive roles.  Serves as the enterprise Executive Recruiter.  Integrates the Employer Value Proposition (EVP) into every step in the TA process, creating a compelling employer story for the best active and passive candidates; ensures a positive candidate experience that reflects Westfield values and culture.  Leads a team of TA professionals who source and attract diverse talent inclusive of race, gender, backgrounds, styles, and experiences, ultimately advancing our D&I strategy.  Actively engages in the talent marketplace to understand competitive sourcing strategies, and new and evolving talent acquisition practices; implements improvements that drive flexibility and speed and enable change.  Measures TA progress through dashboards and scorecards to drive continuous improvement. 

Essential Functions (primary functions and/or reasons the job exists in order of importance)

  • Develops and leads Westfield’s talent attraction strategy to enable the achievement of business objectives.  Ensures attraction, sourcing, screening, selection and onboarding efforts are aligned with Westfield’s broader Talent Strategy.
  • Collaborates with HR Business Partners, and other key stakeholders, to drive a strategic workforce planning approach that anticipates future talent needs and drives distinctive recruiting processes and tactics for all levels in the talent pipeline from early career to executive roles.  Serves as the Executive Recruiter.  
  • Integrates the Employer Value Proposition (EVP) into every step in the TA process, creating a compelling employer story for the best active and passive candidates; ensures a positive candidate experience that reflects Westfield values and culture.  
  • Leads a team of TA professionals who source and attract diverse talent inclusive of race, gender, backgrounds, styles, and experiences, ultimately advancing our D&I strategy.  Drives accountability for adherence to practices that move diverse candidates from the talent pipeline to finalist slates.
  • Leverages networks, memberships, and professional associations to understand prevailing talent trends in the marketplace.  Collaborates with and coaches the TA Practices Manager to identify and implement improvements that drive flexibility and speed; ensures change management plans are created and implemented that drive adoption.
  • Leverages dashboards and scorecards to monitor team and process Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).  Leverages Employee Listening Journey capability to gather feedback on candidate and hiring leader experiences.  Identifies and implements opportunities to drive continuous improvement and mature TA practices.
  • Ensures alignment of Talent Acquisition, Talent Management. Learning and Development and Change Management practices and solutions and identifies opportunities for integration and connectivity across the talent lifecycle.
  • In collaboration with the procurement office, drives contract negotiations for TA investments, and establishes performance benchmarks for strategic vendor partners.  Meets with vendors quarterly to review key relationship metrics, performance SLAs and overall return on investment.
  • Performs talent management responsibilities including employee selection, performance management, coaching, and development.  Manages priorities and workload distribution and removes barriers that impede progress.  Completes all personnel, salary administration, and reporting duties.  Performs operational responsibilities that drive team performance including planning, execution, process improvement and best-practice sharing.  
  • Partners with Employee Relations to monitor and stay abreast of regulatory changes affecting EEO/AAP compliance and ensures appropriate process and policy changes/updates that impact TA processes.  
  • Creates annual budget and completion of monthly budget variance reporting and forecasts.  Is accountable for expenditures of the team.
  • Travels occasionally in order to participate in special assignments, training, and/or travel between office locations.

Desired Qualifications/Experience/Certification/Education (in order of importance)

  • Ten (10+) years leading a Talent Acquisition function, including notable successes in sourcing and recruiting executive talent.  
  • Seven (7+) years of progressive experience in HR roles focused on compliance with federal, state, and local laws – especially related to Talent Acquisition regulations.  
  • Experience with direct people leadership, including coaching and developing direct or indirect reports with proven results.
  • Experience in diverse candidate sourcing.
  • Experience learning new business approaches and best practices and quickly applying personal knowledge and skills to drive efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple stakeholders, collaborate, manage complexity, and manage ambiguity in an ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills resulting in the ability to interact with all levels of management and employee population to obtain buy-in and achieve results.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills gained through previous projects and work experiences.
  • Experience leading and/or assisting in change management.
  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience.  Professional HR certification (SPHR or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and a driving record that conforms to company standards.

  • Ability to work effectively in an office environment for 40+ hours per week (including sitting, standing, and working on a computer for extended periods of time).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a collaborative work environment utilizing various technologies such as:  telephone, computer, web, voice, teleconferencing, e-mail, etc.
  • Ability to travel as required.
